Circular economy projects
Sustainability, our cornerstone. Since our beginnings in 1986, we have established solid values based on innovation, hospitality, commitment, enthusiasm, trust, quality and, of course, sustainability. We were pioneers in the field of the circular economy almost without knowing it, putting into practice certain actions designed to take care of our surroundings and our people.

  • Even with emotions running high, we can only feel grateful for the privilege of having obtained this recognition for the Garden Hotels’ work and commitment to tourism innovation and sustainability. A task that we have been leading in the Balearic Islands since our origins, almost forty years ago, and which would not have been possible without the support of those of you who place your trust in us to look after you during your holidays.
VET Circular (Vocational Training)
  • Training professionals with a commitment to sustainability. In 2021 we initiated a project in collaboration with a number of Spanish vocational training centres to develop material and a methodology for improving the training and incorporation of VET students in the working environment of the Circular Economy. We firmly believe that instilling and educating future generations of employees in the values of Sustainable Development is essential in terms of maintaining sustainability on our planet.
Pure water, zero packaging
  • We care about our land and our people, and because we care, we have installed filtered water fountains so that you can refill the glass water jug in your room as often as you like. By doing this, we are reducing our carbon footprint, reducing waste, using less plastics and less energy. We are also helping to reduce the amount of fossil fuels required for transport.

Km 0
  • 95,000kg of produce from the Balearic Islands. We promote local (km0) and seasonal produce. We prioritise the slow food philosophy, using local companies, food that is good for you, us, and the planet.
Organic Mallorcan lamb
  • 3,000kg of organic Mallorcan lamb. We support local farmers and the local economy. Natural, organic produce are the stars of our cuisine. We prepare dishes that maintain the natural cycle in harmony with the environment.
No plastic
  • A saving of 1.5 tonnes of plastic per season. We work hard to reduce the amount of plastic we use, for example, by replacing amenities with refillable dispensers. Thanks to these efforts, we have managed to save tonnes of plastic from ending up in our seas and oceans.
Compost
  • 20,000kg of organic produce and 10.75 tonnes of organic compost were created. We are the first hotel chain to convert organic waste from our establishments into compost to be used in organic agriculture.
